In the black darkness

بين آهاتِ الكلام
bayn ahat alkalam
Between the groans of words

في صراخِ الطفل لما بيته أضحى ركام
fi srakh altifl lamaa baytih 'adhaa rukam
The child screaming when his house became rubble

سرت استجدي صحابي في حمى البيت الحرام
sirt aistajdi sahabi fi humaa albayt alharam
I walked to beg my friends to protect the holy Mosque

لا أرى في الناس جدوى غير تطييرِ الحمام
la 'araa fi alnaas jadwaa ghyr ttyyr alhamam
I see no use of people other than flying pigeons

وأنا في القدس أبكي بين أوتاد الخيام
wa'ana fi alquds 'abki bayn 'awtad alkhiam
I am in al-Quds crying between the piles of tents

أرتجي عفو عدوي في يديه الموت حام
'artaji eafw eaduiy fi yadayh almawt ham
"Ask for my enemy’s forgiveness" who is ready to bring death by his hand !

أنا لا أخشاه كلا! بل أنا الشبل الهمام
'ana la 'akhshah kla! bal 'ana alshubal alhimam
No, I am not afraid of them I am the brave cub !

لا أخاف البغي إنِي في المُلمًات همام
la 'akhaf albaghy 'ini fi almulmanat humam
I am not afraid of injustice, I am a brave wise man

أنا لا أخشاه كلا! بل أنا الشبل الهمام
'ana la 'akhshah kla! bal 'ana alshubal alhimam
No, I am not afraid of them, I am the brave cub !

مورد العز سقاني بل سمن يحيي العظام
murid alez sqany bal saman yuhyi aleizam

لستُ أخشى من يهودٍ لا أبالي بالوعود

رٌبَ ليلٍ قد تمادى ورمانا بالجمود

لم يزل يخبوا رويداً واعتلى عَرف الورود
lm yuzil yakhibuu rwydaan waietalaa earf alwurud
